Blogging for Dollars
I’ve decided to put together this page so I can put my strategies in one place for friends, relatives, visitors, Martians, etc., etc., to see what I am doing that works for making money. That is just in case they (you) want to adopt them, too. Then we can compare notes.
Occasionally I will post comments on this blog on something that didn’t work as advertised, too. However that would be a MUCH bigger kettle of fish, so I won’t be saying nearly as much as I could. Get my drift?
My Professional Qualifications
There are only two qualifications of importance:
1) I have spent gazillions and gazillions of dollars buying marketing crap that didn’t work. Because of that, I can better resist the marketing hype that sucked me in. And I’d love to pass that on to whomever is interested. Soooo much crap out there!
2) I now make good revenue online, so I can speak from positive experience. Getting to this point has been a long time coming, due to many false starts and misdirections. Nevertheless, here is what I do now that is working.
How to Get Started
It took me more than a year to figure out some technical stuff about blogging on my own. I learned how to bring in a few dollars, although nothing significant. My earnings finally took off when I rediscovered a blog training service called Blog Success.
I am going to warn you right now. The link to the services that I am going to put in below are affiliate links, which means that if you click on any of them and order something, I will earn a commission. Probably about 3 billion people are affiliates of one or more programs, with almost none of them making any money. One thing I learned at Blog Success is how blogging is supposed to work for making money.
Want Some Help?
I don’t charge for my assistance at the moment. However, if you are serious about blogging, you are going to have to buy some services. So you might as well buy them through my affiliate links. This will not influence what you pay. It will just give me a small return for the help that I give you, and it will make it technically easier for me to do so.
Step 1: Buy Your Own Domain
Preferably, buy several names that you might want to use. Buy your own name as a domain and use that as the umbrella for subdomains for your blogging. If your name is taking, as mine was (i.e., dennisclark.com), then modify it to include your name. That is how I arrived at ‘drdennisclark.com’ and it has worked out pretty well.
Get domains at GoDaddy. Just don’t fall prey to any of their upselling. Buy here: Domain Sale! $7.49 .com at GoDaddy
By the way, that link is a typical come-on from GoDaddy (they do that a lot). The normal price that you can expect to pay is closer to $12.00 or so.
Step 2: Get a Hosting Service
Not GoDaddy -too complicated. Almost all services are priced the same. The one I use offers real human help with technical problems, which is worth its weight in gold. Besides, if you want me to show you how to load up a WordPress blog and designate an email address with your new domain name (highly preferred), I already know how to do so with my host. Get the same host here: D9Hosting. Signing up may be a small challenge, so ask me if you need help.
Once you get your D9Hosting account, I can explain how to move your DNS server from GoDaddy to the actual host so you can load up your domain and get WordPress launched.
Oh, by the way, when you go to D9Hosting, you may choose to provide your domain name now or later. Choose ‘later’ since it is easier for getting started.
Step 3: Get Constant Training
This is where most blogger hopefuls fall down. If you are serious about blogging, you must pay for training. And I don’t mean pay me. Right now it is not worth it for me to take time away from my own blogging for dollars to coach someone else on how to make money blogging. So here is what I suggest for beginners and advanced bloggers alike for making their blogging life as easy, as cost-effective, and as successful as possible:
RIGHT NOW…Without further ado, click on the link below to find out about the training that I subscribe to at BlogSuccess.com. Subscribe to it yourself, then let’s synergize on whatever works the best.
The genius behind Blog Success is Jack Humphrey, who teaches the methods that I use. Following his advice can lead to a great income.
This is just one of the approaches that I have learned at Blog Success. You will get all of the keys to blogging success, whether it is one blog or many, from Jack.
I couldn’t do it justice by explaining it myself, so just go watch the video and get further details, and sign up, at this link: How To Make Money Simply By Sharing Information!
Jack also offers a substantial amount of information in his Authority Black Book, which you can get for free through that link. Be sure to get it and dig into it immediately.
Blog Success trained me for getting my first blog to where it still brings in more than 90% of my online revenue.
Step 4: Buy Images!
You will want images to gussy up your blog in many ways. There are many online image directories. However, the one I use, which is excellent is iStockPhotography. (Not an affiliate link.) Oh, and always buy their smallest size images…that is all you need for blogging. Besides, the smallest size costs only $1 to $2 each.
The Power of GOYA
Take action now. It is the only thing that you must do, over and over again, to be successful. GOYA (Get Off Your Ass) sums it up nicely, don’t you think? Take action on the links that I have provided, get going, and I will be able to be much more effective in helping you get your blog up and running and making money for you.
Live Examples
I’ve put together another page that lists my blogs so you can see the examples of what I am doing and plan to do. This page, creatively named ‘My Blogs’, is here:
That’s all I know for now. Shoot, that’s enough!
All the best,
Dennis
