Point well-taken, Professor! Indeed, as much as I suspected the magnitude of influence of the corn industry on our lifestyle, I still underestimated it by a long shot. My eyes were opened when I watched the movie, "Food Inc." Wow! The list of corn-based products, not just foods, that flashed by during that movie was astounding. "Children of the Corn" is not the only thing that is scary about corn.

Thanks again, Mark, for your professional approach to these important issues.

All the best,
Dennis

I like your approach, but wish you would have put corn in one of the pictures :-)

The issue you have with the USDA seems to transfer into the other areas they cover.

Thank you -- Mark

Hi, Jim...I'm all for whatever it takes to have free access, unlike the public toilets in Paris (at my last visit in 1987, anyway). Reminds me that one of the best things that President Ronald Reagan ever did was to eliminate paid toilets in airports. Remember those?

Cheers,
Dennis

I wonder if this is where the term 'Hangin out with friends' came from? Personally, I've never been comfortable with the arrangement...Conversation can be distracting, but sight-seers are the worst. I'm glad to see they're using fixtures in Europe now...when I was in Germany in early 70's, use of doorways were common.

I believe I just read an amazingly condensed version of an entire chapter written by Dr. Covey:

", etc., etc. Just think, if you actually have just 10 hours per week to build your business, all of it can get chewed up in being ‘woo-busy’ with all this stuff, and you will never have time to actually sponsor and develop a leader into your organization."

Way to go Dennis. This is excellent advice, I have a personal story of how this actually happened at a networking meeting in FEB of 2009 and one of the few people that I spoke to, out of >150, and followed up with, actually referred me a client-out of the blue- in May and then became a client in July!!! So, I am testifying to Dennis' advice here.

Hmmm. Fundamentals is Key. Not only as a first step but for later also. I interviewed a man who is grossing >300,000 a month via insurance sales and marketing. Upon receiving his award at the national convention in 2008, I asked him, "what did you learn or exprience that was new for you- this past 12 mos?" After a 10 second pause, to which i remained silent as well, he replied, "Fundamentals, stick with the fundamentals." He then shared about 3-5 minutes explaining to me how they attempted to do some new things and tweak so as to produce more income and according to their metrics was actually doing harm. After re-treating back to their fundamentals on a weekly basis, they set the record ever-- the 2007 year for which he had just been presented an award.

Stick to the basics, Key for Athletes, Businesses, Relationships, Nature, etc.

effort beyond the basics usually requires more resource and has a decreasing marginal utility-economically speaking.
